Thursday's countdown to tip-off

Did you know RMU basketball tips off this Saturday? The countdown is on. All week CTC will list a rundown of things related to RMU basketball. You can check out yesterday’s piece here. With only two days until game day, here are two reasons why the Colonial Crazies are better than you.

2) The crowd surfing: Forget the fact that last March we took down the defending national champions, the coolest part of that game is we crowd surfed a baby.

  I have questions for that kid’s guardian:

• What were you thinking?
• Were you nervous at all?
• How many drinks deep were you?
• What was that discussion like with your wife afterward?
• Do you feel like a great dad knowing you got you just gave your kid a story that will get him laid by 17?
• Can I have your autograph because you’re the coolest parents ever (not really a question, but this is my blog and I make the rules).

Besides little infant children, Romo makes his way up through the crazies during the occasional big game. CTC is very pro-crowd surfing but I also think you have to strike a little fear in the person you’re surfing UNLESS this person is an infant child. For example, when Romo is being crowd surfed he has no idea where he is. Don’t be afraid to drop the occasional “we’re throwing you over the railing” type comment just to scare our mascot. It’s all in good fun.

1) The dedication: We’re court stormers. We’re awful at holding a defense chant. We swarm to games with free stuff. We’re rowdy. We are the Colonial Crazies.

The crazies may not always be the largest but they’re there. You can count on a regular like me to pour my heart into taunting (respectfully) our opponent or Dan Nethers to show up with chest paint. When a big game rolls into town, so do tons of crazies ready to rock and roll. It’s a fact that when the Chuck is packed, RMU simply does not lose. So keep showing up, having fun, and cheering on our colonials.
